ADGCE was contracted to verify, validate, assess the condition and populate the attributes for all assets in a leading UAE City’s Irrigation network of 1,500 KMs. The entire irrigation network is split into two categories (A: everything above 150mm pipe diameter and B: everything below). The network and its assets that fall under category A were to be surveyed on a mandatory basis. Everything in category B was an optional item and the Client was to decide whether it would be commissioned or not. For both categories, the surveys were split into confirmation and discovery surveys. Confirmation surveys were the ones for which GIS data was already available in the client’s GIS System and therefore all survey works on the ground would be for confirmation purposes. Discovery surveys were the ones to be undertaken where there was no specific network alignment available but an indication that a network and assets were there because of specific functional landmarks in relation to Irrigation.
